Vikki C.

My Story

Vikki C. is a British-born poet, writer and musician from London whose literary works are informed by ecology, science, existentialism and the human condition.

Her poetry and prose are widely published in print and online publications including EcoTheo Review, Ice Floe Press, Ellipsis Zine, Black Bough Poetry, Nightingale & Sparrow, Acropolis Journal, Loft Books, Across The Margin, DarkWinter Literary Magazine, Fevers of the Mind Poetry & Art, Literary Revelations, Origami Poems, Boats Against The Current, Jerry Jazz Musician, Lazuli Literary Group, Pissoir (Salò Press), The Write-In (National Flash Fiction Day) and other venues.

In December 2022, Vikki released her debut chapbook 'The Art Of Glass Houses' (Alien Buddha Press) – a collection of poetry and prose exploring the liminal spaces between memory, heritage, art and existentialism.

Her second book of poetry 'Where Sands Run Finest' (DarkWinter Press) is scheduled to be published in Spring 2024.

Having written poetry from a young age, Vikki's interest in the genre was deepened by the early modernist movement. She was particularly drawn to T.S. Eliot's notable work "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" - a poem which embodies imagistic qualities interwoven with a wondrous lyrical language. She believes such aesthetic is key to an immersive artistic experience and aims to emulate this through her own signature style of poetic prose.

When it comes to science and poetry, the two marry in the magic of everyday life. She cannot contemplate the earliest stars without pondering the light years of loss since the inception of the universe.

Throughout her corporate life, Vikki has sought a necessary haven in poetry, art, literature and music. She is an avid pianist whose "cinematic-style" compositions converge where nature's rhythms meet the metaphysical. Vikki's voice and written works have also been featured in audio collaborations including her contribution to Iambic Beats' album 'Neuron Fire', produced by Melinda A. Smith, aimed at raising mental health awareness among young adults. Vikki has also worked in cities across Asia, attributing her diverse artistic perspectives to these cross-cultural influences.
